Fifth Outright win for Peters

St. Peter’s College recorded their fifth outright win when they beat Lumbini MV by an innings and 12 runs in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Colts Grounds yesterday.

 

The Peterites who were put into bat scored 244 and declared with Janith Liyanage & Shasheen Fernando scoring half centuries. 

The Petes bowlers Julian de Zilva, Sudil Dissanayake and skipper Dushan Hemantha who together shared 9 wickets, succeeded in restricting Lumbini MV to a score of 115 after Lumbini MV put up some resistance with Rasan Mannan who made a fighting knock of 43.

Forced to follow on with a deficit of 129 to erase, Lumbini MV found the going tough and were bundled out for 117 in the second innings with the Pete’s skipper Hemantha finishing with 5 for 28 and Krishan Fernando grabbing 3 for 23.
