Cup quarter final

In the first Cup quarter- final, St. Anthony’s College made easy work out of a messy St. Joseph’s College team. The lads from Kandy scored 3 tried a piece while converting 4 of the 6 tries. The Darley Road boys scored 2 tries in the first half to be in touching distance of St. Anthony’s at the end of the 1st half. The hill country boys’ defense held strong, they struck back on the counter attack to score 3 tries in the second half as they sealed a remarkable win to progress through to the semi-finals of the cup segment while Joes make their way to the Plate semi-final.

Game two saw Kingswood take on St. John’s College. The game was a one sided affair from the onset as Kingswood ran riot scoring a massive 13 tries. It always looked out of the reach of the raw and under built St. John’s lads. 75 points in the context of the game pushed St. John’s to the Plate segment as they would battle it out against the likes of St. Joseph’s to contest for the Plate championship.
