Sri Lankan Archers take part in Online Indoor World series

The event was worked off between 15 – 17th January 2021 and the scores were confirmed this week after ratification.

The women’s recurve archery event was won by 3 Koreans, while the Sri Lankan entries saw the women’s ranking 334 Tharuni Samarakkody, 342 Sandra Mack and 389 Nadeesha Fernando when considering the top 3 performances. A total of 14 women participated in the event which saw 628 entries in total.

The men’s recurve event was won by World Number 1 ranked Brady Ellison of USA, while India and Korea took the 2nd and 3rd places respectively. The top Sri Lankan ranked players 148 Sajeev De Silva, 237 Ravien Dalpatadu and 263 Kavin Premaratne had the top 3 performances. The men’s event had a staggering 1134 entries in total.

The online event is typically an indoor event, however it was allowed to be shot indoors or outdoors. The event needed to be updated online on the world archery platform which updates the scores online. There were 3 to 4 separate locations conducting the tournament from Colombo and Bandarawela.

The final edition of the tournament will be held between the 12-15 February.
