Sri Lanka whitewashed at FIBA Asia U16 Women

Sri Lanka lose fifth and final group stage encounter against Indonesia 36-52 in the FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women. 

After an extremely good start, the Lankans lead in the first quarter by a point, and continued to put pressure on the Indonesians in a closely knit encounter at the Sugathadasa Stadium. 

Both teams were tied at the end of the second quarter, but much to the frustration of the home team the third and fourth quarters only yielded a dismal 8 points in total as the Indonesians raced their way ahead to claim the game.

N. Samarasinghe was the standout player for the Lankans with 18 points under her belt, she also was the quickest to react with eight rebounds as well. The Indonesians were propelled by Y. Assipalma and R. Pramesti who collectively contributed with 28 points to steer their team to victory.

Sri Lanka have failed to win a single game in this years tournament.
