T20I Tri-Series in Pakistan 2025

Sri Lanka registered a thrilling win over Pakistan in the sixth match of the T20I Tri-Series played today (27th November) at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium. With this victory, Sri Lanka secured their place in the final of the series.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first. Sri Lanka made full use of the opportunity, posting a commanding total of 184 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs.

Opening batter Kamil Mishara led the way with a superb 76 off 48 deliveries, striking 6 fours and 3 sixes. At No. 3, Kusal Mendis provided further momentum with a brisk 40 off 23 balls, featuring 6 boundaries and a six. Abrar Ahmed was the standout performer with the ball for Pakistan, claiming 2 wickets for 28 runs.

Pakistan’s run chase got off to a disastrous start as speedster Dushmantha Chameera produced a fiery spell, ripping through the top order with three wickets in his first two overs. Reeling in the powerplay, Pakistan found stability through captain Salman Agha, who built a vital 50-run partnership with Usman Khan.

Agha initially played the anchor role, but after Usman’s dismissal, he shifted gears and began to attack with confidence. His counterpunch brought Pakistan back into the contest, bringing the equation down to 22 needed off the final 12 balls. With just 10 required from the last over, Pakistan appeared to have the momentum firmly on their side.

However, Chameera returned for the final over and delivered a masterclass under pressure. Mixing yorkers with pinpoint accuracy, he restricted the scoring, denied Agha the strike when it mattered most, and ultimately dragged Sri Lanka over the line. Chameera finished with outstanding figures of 4 for 20 in his four overs, sealing the game for his side.

With this hard-fought win, Sri Lanka set up a rematch with Pakistan in the Tri-Series final, scheduled for 29th November. Fans can catch the action live on ThePapare 1 & ThePapare 1 HD (Dialog TV Ch. 62 & 126), the Dialog ViU+ App, and ThePapare.com.
