The squads for the upcoming Sri Lanka Super 7’s, powered by Dialog were released following the player auction held last evening (June 22).
Sri Lanka Super 7’s: Local Player Draft released
A total of 138 local players have been included in the main draft..
Bidding took place last afternoon as team managements came together with the intention of building a strong outfit at the premier 7’s tournament in the island and around Asia.
The first leg of the second edition of this tournament is set to take place on the 8th and 9th of July at Kandy, Nittawala Stadium while the second leg will take place during the following week (15th & 16th) at Racecourse International Stadium.

138 players were drafted to be auctioned for the second edition of the tournament.
In addition to the local players, International players from around the rugby world were listed to be auctioned. A few teams have finalized their foreign players however some are yet to do so.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the bidding process was that school leavers such Chatura Seneviratne, Chamod Fernando and Naveen Henakankanamge being bought for hefty fees.
