In a historic achievement, Sri Lanka secured an unprecedented 26 medals at the 12th World Strengthlifting Championship, marking the highest medal tally ever by a Sri Lankan team in any international sport competition under a national federation.
The team’s remarkable haul included multiple gold medals, numerous silver medals, and a bronze, with standout world record performances by Udara Gayan, Dulanjana Shiwanka, and A.P. Randima Karunarathna in the hacklift.
These achievements not only highlight the individual brilliance of Sri Lanka’s athletes but also underscore the country’s rising dominance in strengthlifting.
