The 2nd day of the warm-up match between the Sri Lanka Board President’s XI and the New Zealanders was called off due to the continuous rain at Katunayake.

The Air Force ground was covered since morning as the patchy rains frustrated the Kiwis throughout the morning and finally, the match umpires Ishantha Deepal Gunawardene and Rohitha Kottahachchi decided to call it a day at around 2pm.
Sadeera, Danushka shine as Kiwis toil on day 01
New Zealanders had to work hard on the first day in the warm-up match against Sri Lanka Board….
At stumps on day 01, SLBP-XI was on a strong position at 323/6, courtesy of the half centuries by Danushka Gunathilaka, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Ashan Priyanjan. Home side had decided to declare their innings to grant the New Zealanders to have a go with the bat in order to test the visitors’ batting strength in spin friendly conditions.
