Sri Lanka Cricket presents Revised ICC Working Group Proposals

Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee met with Stake holders, Past Captains, Past Presidents, Secretaries, Management Staff of SLC in the presence of the Sports Ministry Representative at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Sports yesterday.

They discussed the matters pertaining to the ICC Revised Working Group Proposals presented at the ICC Board meeting held on the 8th of February 2014 in Singapore. 

At this meeting SLC  was represented by the Vice President of SLC Mr. Mohan De Silva, the Hony.Secretary of SLC Mr. Nishantha Ranatunga and SLC Treasurer Mr. Nuski Mohamed.

SLC communiqué states that the representatives of SLC briefed the stake holders and all present on the sequence of events that took place at the ICC Board Meeting. The contents of the revised proposals that were forwarded by the ICC and the concerns of SLC which led to SLC’s representation to abstain from voting when the proposals were tabled at the ICC Board meeting were explained to those present in detail. The positive outcome on the discussions and negotiations which took place with the representatives of the other Member Nations of the ICC were also spelled out to the audience.  

The members of the delegation elaborated on the financial distribution model on the revised working group proposals to the audience. The financial perspective based on the discussions and negotiations which took place between the SLC and other member nations were also explained.

The congregation were in unanimous agreement with the decision taken by the SLC representation to abstain from voting at the last ICC Board meeting during the passing of the Revised Resolutions. They were also in agreement with the decision of the Executive Committee to support the resolutions put forward by the ICC in the future with the revised changes.
