Sri Lanka have confirmed their Playing XI for the opening T20I against West Indies, which is scheduled to get underway tomorrow (12th June) at Sabina Park in Kingston.

The skipper Kusal Mendis will open the innings alongside Pathum Nissanka, while young batter Lasith Croospulle has been handed the opportunity to occupy the crucial No. 3 position in the batting order.

The middle order will feature Pavan Rathnayake, Kamindu Mendis and Dasun Shanaka, who have been slotted into the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 positions respectively, providing stability and firepower to the Sri Lankan batting lineup.

Sri Lanka have opted for a pace-heavy combination for the series opener, naming three specialist seamers in the playing XI. Dushmantha Chameera, Eshan Malinga and Dilshan Madushanka will lead the fast-bowling attack, looking to make an impact on the conditions at Sabina Park.

The spin department will be spearheaded by the experienced duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana, who continue to be Sri Lanka’s key options with the ball in the shortest format.

Fans can watch the T20I series LIVE on ThePapare 1 & 1 HD (Dialog TV Ch. 62 & 126).
