Sri Lanka ‘A’ registered a massive win over Afghanistan ‘A’ in the one-off Unofficial Test played at Abu Dhabi.
Having won the toss, Sri Lanka ‘A’ posted a commanding total – 406 on the board for their first innings. The opening batter Lahiru Udara and middle-order batter Sonal Dinusha starred with superb centuries.

In their turn with the ball, Sri Lanka produced a much better bowling display to restrict Afghanistan for just 168 runs. The speedster Isitha Wijesundara was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as he claimed 6 wickets for 35 runs.
Sri Lanka ‘A began their second innings 238 runs ahead and posted 376 runs for 4 wickets before declaring the innings.
Nuwanidu Fernando, Pavan Rathnayake and Pasindu Sooriyabandara struck stunning centuries, setting a massive target – 614 for Afghanistan ‘A’.

Afghanistan ‘A’ showed an improved batting effort in the second innings, but it wasn’t enough to reach the target as they fell short by a massive 308-run margin. Wijesundara who claimed a six-fer in the first innings, bagged 4 more wickets in the second innings to take his match tally to 10 wickets for 110 runs.
