Sri Lanka ‘A’ bounced back with a dominant win over Australia ‘A’ in the second One Day game to level the three-match series in Darwin.
Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka ‘A’ showcased a robust batting display, posting a formidable 294 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs, driven by splendid half-centuries from Nuwanidu Fernando and Lasith Croospulle.

Fernando, making a dynamic return to the side after missing the first match, played a match-defining knock of 82 runs off 90 balls, studded with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Croospulle complemented him with an elegant 63 off 70 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes, as the duo set a solid foundation for Sri Lanka ‘A’s challenging total against Australia ‘A’.
Chasing a formidable target of 295, Australia ‘A’ managed 243 all out, falling 51 runs short of Sri Lanka ‘A’s total. Skipper Matt Renshaw led the fight for the hosts with a resilient century, showcasing his class and determination.

He was well-supported by No.3 batter Liam Scott, who contributed a vital half-century, but their efforts were not enough to overhaul Sri Lanka ‘A’s commanding score.
Pramod Madushan spearheaded Sri Lanka ‘A’s bowling attack with a game-changing four-wicket haul, dismantling Australia ‘A’s batting lineup. He was ably supported by Mohamed Shiraz, Sahan Arachchige, and Dushan Hemantha, who each claimed two wickets, ensuring a clinical performance that restricted Australia ‘A’ to 243.
