After a commanding performance with the ball on Day 1, Australia ‘A’ showcased their batting prowess on Day 2, finishing at 241 for 4 in response to Sri Lanka ‘A’s first innings total of 272. 

The hosts trail by just 31 runs with six wickets in hand, setting the stage for an intriguing third day’s play at the Marrara Cricket Stadium in Darwin.

The star of the day was Australia ‘A’s No. 3, Nathan McSweeney, who anchored the innings with an unbeaten 94 runs off 219 balls. 

McSweeney’s resilient knock, laced with six fours, demonstrated his ability to combine patience with precision, steering his team to a strong position. 

Supporting him were Jake Weatherald and Liam Scott, who both played crucial roles with well-constructed half-centuries, bolstering Australia ‘A’s response. 

Sri Lanka ‘A’ struggled to break through Australia’s resolute batting line-up, but left-arm spinner Sonal Dinusha emerged as the standout bowler for the visitors.

Dinusha bowled with control and guile, claiming 2 wickets for 44 runs to keep his team in the contest. Despite his efforts, Australia ‘A’ maintained the upper hand, capitalizing on favorable batting conditions.
