Sri Lanka A fall behind on Day 2

Day 2 of the second unofficial test between Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A ended with the Pakistanis obtaining a healthy lead of 120 runs.

After the early loss of Sharjeel khan late on the first day Pakistan A recovered well with a century stand between Jahid Ali and Saud Shakeel for the 2nd wicket. Ali scored 43 runs before he nicked one off Asitha Fernando. Saud carried on his merry way and reached his half century. Saud and Skipper Babar Azam put on a half century stand to lift Pakistan A into a demanding position at lunch.

Sri Lanka came back into the game by sending both Azam and Saud back to the pavilion which put Pakistan A at 180 for 4. Saud scored a valuable 87 runs for his team at first drop.

Mohommad Nawaz carried his good form from the previous match and scored another half century in the lower middle order.  Nawaz and Mohommad Hasan guided Pakistan A over the Sri Lanka A first innings total.

Sri Lanka A managed to get rid of Nawaz when Dhananjaya De Silva cleaned him up for 52. Sri Lanka A could not capitalize on the opening as Shadab Khan came in and played quick fire cameo of 48.

The Sri Lankan bowlers lacked penetration throughout the inning as Pakistan A ended day 2 on 370 for 7, 120 runs ahead.

Sri Lanka posted 250 runs in their first innings with Udhara Jayasundera and Roshen silva scoring half centuries for the lions.
