Speed Star Championship 2023, the first go-karting race organized by the SpeedBay @ Port City Colombo will take place on April 28 from 1.00 pm onwards.
This is the first round of a three-series championship and is organised by the SpeedBay @ Port City Colombo in collaboration with the Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC).
Each round has eight classes including <= 50 Kg (PRO Class), <= 50 Kg (AM Class), 51 Kg – 75 Kg (PRO Class), 51 Kg – 75 Kg (AM Class), 76 Kg <= (PRO Class), 76 Kg <= (AM Class), Ladies Open (PRO Class) and Ladies Open (AM Class).
Those who complete a lap in 44 seconds or less in the practice sessions can race in the Professional (PRO) category and others in the Amateur (AM) classes, according to a statement by the organisers.
The event includes a 15 min qualifying session and a15 lap race. The event is open to all.
