Court puts off enjoining order for April 8
Colombo District Judge Amal Ranaraja yesterday put forward the enjoining order requested preventing Jayantha Dharmadasa acting as nominee for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Presidency until April 8, 2013.
Court also ordered that notice be issued on Jayantha Dharmadasa and executive members of the Sri Lanka Cricket to appear before courts on April 8, 2013.
Judge Ranaraja said the decision on issuing the enjoining order, would be made after hearing both sides in the petition filed by President of the Colombo District Cricket Association Chulananda Silva and Secretary Bandula Thilak Dissanayake challenging the nomination of Jayantha Dharmadasa to the SLC’s top post.
Ali Sabry PC, Attorneys-at-Law Samin Fernando, Ruvantha Cooray, Lasantha Alagiyawanne, Atula De Silva and Priyantha Amarasinghe appeared for the petitioner.
