In a thrilling display of cricketing prowess, Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC) and Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) secured massive victories in their respective encounters of the SLC Major Clubs 50 Over Tournament on July 17, 2025.

Nondescripts Cricket Club registered a massive victory over Badureliya Sports Club in a high-scoring Group A encounter at the NCC Grounds.

The match was defined by blistering knocks from Ahan Wickramasinghe and Chamika Karunaratne, who powered NCC to a formidable total.

Wickramasinghe led the charge with a scintillating 114 runs off just 90 balls, smashing 14 fours and 2 sixes in a display of controlled aggression. His partner, Karunaratne, was equally destructive, finishing unbeaten on 95 runs off a mere 46 balls, laced with 7 fours and 8 towering sixes.

Despite a valiant effort from Badureliya’s Seekkuge Prasanna, who blazed his way to 112 runs off 75 balls, including 5 fours and 10 sixes, it was a losing cause.

Prasanna’s explosive century kept Badureliya in the hunt momentarily, but NCC’s disciplined bowling and fielding ensured the chase fell short, sealing a comprehensive win for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) secured a resounding win over Bloomfield Cricket & Athletic Club, thanks to a breathtaking performance by Nishan Madushka.

The young batter played a masterful innings, scoring 174 runs off 145 balls with 14 fours and 6 sixes. Madushka’s majestic ton was the cornerstone of CCC’s imposing total, as he dismantled Bloomfield’s bowling unit with elegance and power.

Madushka’s marathon knock, combined with tight bowling from CCC, ensured a massive victory, further solidifying their position in Group B.

The day also saw standout bowling performances across other matches. Senitha Halambage of Panadura SC delivered a stellar spell, troubling batters with his accuracy and variations.
