Sri Lanka Weightlifters to Gold Coast for Commonwealth Championship

A contingent of 19 Sri Lankan weightlifters will be leaving the Island on Saturday (02nd September) to take part in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship which will be held in Gold Coast, Australia.

Sri Lanka will be represented in the senior, junior and youth categories at the six day competition scheduled to start on the 04th of September. Commonwealth games medalist Chinthana Vidanage competing in the 77kg category will be a definite medal hope for the country alongside Olympian Sudesh Peiris who will compete in the 62kg category.

Young gun Isuru Senadeera will be competing in the 105kg category of the junior (U20) as well as the senior categories and is one for the future as he will look to gain maximum exposure from this competition.
