Sri Lanka notched up a 200-run win over USA in their only warm-up game ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2021, on Friday.

It was an absolute run-fest for Sri Lanka in Harare, as they played their 1st game against an international team in over 600 days. Only 1 batter crossed the 50-run mark – vice captain Harshitha Samarawickrama made 54 – yet, the team managed to amass 326 runs in their 50 overs, with contributions from batters throughout the line-up.

Sri Lanka’s management used the game to get some much-needed time in the middle for the entire team and so, Samarawickrama, Nilakshi de Silva (46) and Ama Kanchana (32) were retired out.

The USA were no match for Sri Lanka’s skill with the ball either as they were bowled out for 126 in 46 overs. Veteran Inoka Ranaweera was the pick of the bowlers, claiming figures of 3/26 while 20-year-old left-arm wrist spinner Sachini Nisansala picked up 2/11.

Medium pacers Achini Kulasooriya and Nilakshi de Silva were also amongst the wickets, while 3 US batters were run-out.
