Maris Stella College, Negombo is hosting St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy in Katuneriya while St. Mary’s College, Kegalle and Mahanama College, Colombo are battling out their tournament fixture of the Singer U19 Division One Cricket Tournament in Ratmalana.

Following a troubled day one at 87 runs for 7 wickets, Thurstan College, Colombo fought their way back to a victory on day two. Dharmapala College who batted first were only able to post 157 runs. Malith Sandakalum was the top-scorer with 54 runs. Sandaru Dias was the destructor with the ball as he bagged 6 wickets.
Though Thurstan struggled at the beginning of the innings, responsible knocks from Ranesh Silva (48), Ayesh Harshana (40) and the skipper, Sandaru Dias (35) propelled them to 187 runs.
Thurstan skipper, Sandaru Dias, who is in sublime form with the ball, picked up a match-bag 11 wickets with his fifer in the second innings. Dharmapala College was bowled out for 131 runs, setting a target of 107 runs for Thurstan College. Thurstan College went past the mark for the loss of 5 wickets. Sanuth Nandinu helped Thurstan College with 49 runs.

St. Mary’s was put to bat by Mahanama, who won the toss. It was a below-par performance by the St. Mary’s batsmen as they were bundled up for just 103 runs. Pasan Walisinghe’s 35 was the best performance with the bat for St. Mary’s in the innings.
In reply, Mahanama got off to a flying start as the openers Pawantha Weerasinghe and Vinuka Rupasinghe put up a 169-run partnership by the end of the day with both their wickets intact. Pawantha scored a blistering century while Vinuka hit an unbeaten half-century.
