Silva’s match winning knock helps SSC win

Kaushal Silva’s  struck a match winning half century to lead SSC to an easy seven-wicket win over Tamil Union in their Premier limited overs cricket match played at the SSC ground today. 

Chasing an easy target of 156, SSC lost three quick wickets cheaply but Silva stood firm with his watchful 74 off 115 balls to lead his side towards the target without a much hassle. He also shared an unbeaten 94 with skipper Thilina Kandamby who was unbeaten on 47 when they reached the target in the 39th over.  This was SSC’s third successive win in the season. The pair looked unruffled right through the innings as they launched a very determined innings to lead their side to victory without any further hiccups. Silva was also a busy man behind the wicket as took two stumpings and a catch behind the wicket. He stumped tailenders   Shaminda Eranga and Suragna Lakmal after catching behind the top scorer Rangana Herath. Herath scored 33 off 41 balls and shared 50 runs for the 7th wicket between ramith Rambukwella who made 27 with three sixes.
