Two India players dropped following fitness testing. Navdeep Saini has replaced Mohammed Shami in the India Test team for the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Bengaluru after the latter failed a fitness test.
Seamer Saini took 34 wickets in eight Ranji Trophy games in 2017/18 and was also called up to bowl to the Indian batsmen during the tour of South Africa.
Meanwhile the BCCI also announced that the former under 19 captain Ishan Kishan has replaced Sanju Samson in the India A squad for the one-day tour to England, after Samson also failed to meet required fitness levels.
India take on Test newcomers Afghanistan in a five-day game beginning on Thursday before heading to England in July.
