Sri Lanka’s ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier fixture against the West Indies has been called off owing to a COVID-19 scare.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that seven Sri Lankan Women’s Cricketers have been tested positive for COVID-19 this morning.

As a result of this, the match between Sri Lanka Women and West Indies Women which was scheduled to be played today, was cancelled.

The West Indies Women had also refused to take the field after the reports of the positive tests in Sri Lankan camp.

Due to the COVID-19 scare in the African region, the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier was also abandoned.
