The inaugural Tamil Union Open Ranking Tennis Tournament came to a close on the 1st of March. The tournament which commenced on the 17th of February was conducted in grand style as the young participants battled it out for glory with intent and determination throughout the course of the tournament.
The top performers of the tournament were Nadun Senadeera and Anika Seneviratne. Nadun Senadeera performed at an exceptionally high standard and did not drop a single set on his way to winning the under 14 boy’s singles title. He also teamed up with Vikum Jayasuriya to win the boy’s under 14 doubles title. The young and talented Anika Seneviratne dominated the girls segment of the tournament as she cruised to victory in both the under 12 singles and under 14 singles events.
