Java Lane v Negombo Youth
Java Lane had to dig deep to come away with three-points against Negombo Youth in a Group A encounter in the Sri Lanka Football Champions League at the Racecourse Stadium.
Java Lane were desperate for the 2nd win in as many games to boost their chances of getting into the Super 8’s. In a bright first 20 minutes they scored twice through Oluwaseun Olawale in the 9th minute and the red hot Harshana Sumudu in the 19th minute.

Negombo applied themselves well in the 2nd half, frustrating Java Lane. Mohamed Rifkhan scored for Negombo in the 86th minute setting up a tense final few minutes, which Java Lane managed to overcome to get the win.

Saunders v New Star
Saunders climbed to 2nd in group A defeating a lackluster New Star side 1-0 in the Sri Lanka Football Champions League at the Racecourse Stadium.
New Star came into the match in high spirits while Saunders knew a win would strengthen their hopes of making it to the Super 8’s. Multiple positional changes saw New Star struggle to get a grip of the game while Saunders piled on the pressure.
After missing multiple chances, Saunders were awarded a penalty. Captain Indreewa Udara scored the penalty to give them the lead at half time.

After the break, New Star got their act together and brought on Mohamed Shakir, which had a positive impact. However, even with an improved performance New Star were unable to find an equalizer.

Solid v Moragasmulla
Solid thumped Moragasmulla 6-1 in a Group B encounter in the Sri Lanka Football Champions League at the Racecourse Stadium.
Mensah Prince opened the scoring for Solid in the 12th minute. Wave after wave of Solid attacks saw Moragasmulla captain Mohamed Shifan scoring an own goal in the 22nd minute and four minutes later, Henry Chibueze scoring the 3rd.
Ayantha Shavinda too helped with another own goal in the 33rd minute before Hansa Kalhara pulled one goal back for Moragasmulla just before half time.

Just as Moragasmulla were looking at some sort of control, Solid struck once again through a Chibueze header, in the 53rd minute. Kennady Johnraj scored the 6th in 90+2nd minute.

Crystal Palace defeated SLTB 3-0 in a Group A encounter in the Sri Lanka Football Champions League at the Racecourse Stadium.
A disappointing first half for Crystal Palace saw them struggle against a stubborn SLTB defense, as it went into the break goalless.
