England Women’s Sarah Taylor, who took an indefinite break from cricket due to anxiety disorder in May 2016, has now joined the national side, which is currently training in the UAE for the upcoming ICC Women’s Word Cup in June-July.

The highly regarded wicketkeeper-batter was originally left out of the training squad that was announced earlier in March due to the uncertainty of her availability.

“Sarah Taylor is going really well at the moment and is back in training,” said coach Mark Robinson on Monday (April 10).

“Her return is a graduated one which is being regularly reviewed as she hopefully works herself back to full fitness. Her goal is still to give herself the best chance of being able to play in the World Cup.”

A total of 25 players are partaking in the camp, where they will play two intra-squad games, followed by three ODIs against Ireland.

The 27-year-old had earlier opened up about her mental struggle that affected her performance on the field and was put through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as part of her recovery process.
