Isipathana College vs Lumbini College

Moratu Vidyalaya hosted Dharmasoka in their group match. Dharmasoka won the toss and elected to bat first. Their plans were ruined by the home side who bundled them out for just 162 runs in 49.3 overs. Kasun Madhuranga top scored with 35 while Shanuka Madushan bagged 3 for 42 for the home side.

Dharmasoka bounced back into the game through their bowling, dismissing Moratu Vidyalaya for just 79 runs in 25.2 overs. Kavindu Nadeeshan picked up the best figures for Dharmashoka with 3 for 23. Dharmasoka replied with 190 all out in 38 overs giving the home side a target of 271 runs.

Richmond, one of the top teams in D1, have failed to impress so far this season. But they collected much needed points in their match against Anuradhapura Central. Anuradhapura Central won the toss and put the home side in to bat first. Richmond College posted a formidable 1st innings total of 309 for the loss of 9 wickets before they asked the visitors to bat. Thaveesha Abishek made an unbeaten 124 putting the home side into a demanding position.

After a dominant batting performance, Avindu Theekshana’s 11-wicket match bag with the ball, made sure that they gained full points from the match. The visitors were bundled out for just 136 runs in the first innings with Avindu taking 5 for 19 and when asked to follow-on they were dismissed for just 102 runs, giving Richmond College a victory by an innings and 70 runs.
