The traditional encounter between Royal College, Colombo and St. Anthony’s College, Kandy commenced today (20th May) at St. Anthony’s College Grounds in Kandy.

St. Anthony’s College won the toss and chose to bat first in their own backyard, but were unable to impress with the bat as they were bowled out for just 170 runs.

Sri Lanka U19 cap Chamindu Wickramasinghe top-scored with a knock of 57 runs off 67 balls, with 6 fours and 2 sixes. The spin duo Sadisha Rajapaksha (5/65) and Gishan Balasooriya (4/34) wrecked the Antonian batting line-up, sharing 9 wickets between them.

In reply, Royal College posted 104 runs for 4 wickets, with Sadisha Rajapaksha top-scoring with an unbeaten 58 runs off 63 balls with 7 fours.
