The highly anticipated Ritzbury Summa Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival 2024 kicked off on September 29th at the Royal College Sports Complex. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Ritzbury, Sri Lanka’s leading chocolate brand from Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), has supported the event, demonstrating its commitment to nurturing the country’s emerging sports talent.

Now in its 14th year, the first round of the 2024 carnival featured 128 teams from 43 schools and academies competing in the Under-10 and Under-12 categories, with 192 matches played across four pitches. The first three rounds are held at the Royal College Sports Complex, with the final round taking place at Bogambara Stadium in Kandy.
The event’s primary goal is to promote rugby and provide young players the opportunity to showcase their abilities in a fun yet competitive setting. To encourage participation and highlight the values of hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship, no overall champion is declared.
Given rugby’s popularity in Sri Lanka and its large fan base, Ritzbury, a market leader in the local chocolate industry, is confident in hosting another successful and exciting event this year.
