Richmond College, Galle all-rounder Charith Asalanka has been named captain of the Sri Lanka under 19 team to face the Pakistan under 19 team in the upcoming two three-day matches at Hambanthota.
The left-hander who is also a genuine off-spinner has led Sri Lanka Youth team previously against Bangladesh junior team.
Anandian all-rounder Sammu Ashan will act as the vice-captain of the team.
The selectors have picked two squads of 15 players for the two three-day encounters. Initially the first match was supposed to take place at Uyanwatta Stadium in Matara but it has now been shifted to Hambantota due to the inclement weather conditions.
The first under 19 test is scheduled from October 4-6 and the second from October 10-12.
