Zahira College, Maradana vs St. Joseph’s College, Maradana

St. Joseph’s College managed to secure an outright win against Zahira College in the group D encounter which concluded today at Zahira ground. St. Joseph’s College resumed day two on 153/3 and went onto post 249 all out for the first innings. Revan Kelly scored a brilliant century for the visitors. For the second innings, Zahira College managed to add 174 runs on the board while setting a target of 86 to chase for Josephs. Nipun Sumanasinghe picked up 5 wickets and Dunith Wellalage picked up another 4 wicket haul in the match. St. Joseph’s College chased down the target with 6 wickets to spare.

Group A encounter between D.S. Senanayake College and St. Thomas College concluded today at Bandaragama Ground while giving a first innings win for D.S. Senanayaka College. St. Thomas College resumed day two on 98/7 and add another 19 runs for the remaining three wickets. Methushan Kumara was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged 4 wickets. After being asked to follow on, St. Thomas College batted well for the second innings and declared the innings for 232 runs for the loss of 9 wickets while setting a target of 125 runs for D.S. Senanayakae College to chase. However, they could only get 40 runs for 4 wickets when the umpires stopped play for

Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa vs St. Marys College, Kegalle

The match between Prince of Wales College and St. Mary’s College began today at Prince of Wales College grounds. After being asked to bat first, Cambrians posted 177 all out for their first innings. Vinuja Ranpul (60) and Devaka Pieris (51) contributed with half centuries for cambrians while Sanjaya Ranjith and Akalanka Pethiyagoda bagged 3 wickets each for St. Marys. In reply, St. Marys College bowled out for just 75 runs for their first innings. Naduka Fernando starred with the ball for Cambrians with 5 wickets. After being asked to follow on, St. Marys College managed to post 50 runs for the loss of 4 wickets at stumps on day one. Match will continue tomorrow for day two.
