Ragama CC will be heading into this season’s SLC premier league with intentions of stamping their authority in the local cricket circuit.
Bit of History
Ragama CC was founded by three cricket fanatics, namely, Roshan Abeysinghe, Roshan Iddamalgoda and Uditha Wijesundara. It was formed way back in 1989 and has been an ever present name in the Sri Lankan Cricket circuit since then.
Key Players
Roshen Silva scored a bucket load of runs last season, ending with 678 runs in 10 matches with a best of 225, averaging 56.50. He managed to earn a call up to the Sri Lankan Test squad but was unfortunate to just miss out on the playing XI and will be hoping to impress further and make it to the playing eleven this time around.
Sri Lanka discard Lahiru Thirimanna will be aiming to revive his national career as he runs out in Ragama colors this season. He managed 371 runs in just 3 first class matches but failed when called up to the national team.

The experienced Amila Aponsu was the third highest wicket taker last season with 47 wickets in 10 matches. He did impress on national duty as he got the call up but will be hoping to cement his place with some impressive performances.
Lahiru Milantha was impressive in the recently concluded mercantile tournament. He managed 300+ runs batting in the top order for John Keells. He will be seeking a national call up with the hope of some big scores.
New boys
Akshu Fernando is a new face at Ragama this season after switching from Chilaw Marians. Janith Liyanage is another youngster at the club who will be seeking to impress.
Coaching Staff
Malinga Bandara will be the man behind the scenes for Ragama this time around and will be hoping to replicate his success that he saw with MAS Unichela.
