Police Sports Club showcased their dominance in the first semi-final of the SLC Major Clubs 50 Over Tournament 2025, defeating Colts Cricket Club by four wickets at the CCC Grounds in Colombo on Friday (25th July). 

Winning the toss, Police Sports Club elected to bowl first, a decision that paid dividends as they restricted Colts Cricket Club to a modest total of 143 runs. 

The bowling attack was led by left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera, who starred with an impressive haul of 4 wickets for 36 runs, dismantling the Colts’ batting lineup.

Dhanuja Induwara complemented Sudeera’s efforts, claiming 3 wickets for just 24 runs, ensuring the opposition was kept under pressure throughout their innings. 

In response, Police Sports Club chased down the target of 144 runs in 35.5 overs, finishing with four wickets in hand.

Skipper Ashen Bandara played a pivotal role in the run-chase, anchoring the innings with an unbeaten 55 off 84 balls, including five fours. His composed knock guided the team to victory, navigating through early challenges to secure a spot in the final. 

The second semi-final of the tournament is set to take place on 27th July at the same venue, where Colombo Cricket Club will face off against Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club in what promises to be another thrilling encounter.
