Former Sri Lanka and Ceylonese Rugby & Football Club (CR&FC) captain Pavithra Fernando has been elected as the new President of Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR).

The election took place during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Sri Lanka Rugby, held earlier today at the Duncan White Auditorium Hall within the Sports Ministry complex in Colombo.

Fernando, a respected figure in the local rugby fraternity, brings a wealth of experience both as a player and an administrator.
The newly elected office bearers for the 2025/2026 term are as follows:
- President: Pavithra Fernando
- Deputy President: Shanitha Fernando
- Vice President: Chinthaka Perera
- General Secretary: Subash Jayatilaka
- Treasurer: Neomal Ekanayake
- Female Representative: Thilini Rangani
- Athlete Representative: Stephan Gregory
The new administration will focus on enhancing domestic competitions, strengthening the national team structure, and introducing development programs aimed at raising the overall standard of the sport across all levels in the country.
