Pakistan were all out for 165 runs in the evening session on day one of the second Test against Sri Lanka, with the visiting bowlers enjoying heavy rewards on a tricky Dubai wicket.
When Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to field, there were murmurings of dissent, given the spinning track later in the game, but his decision was vindicated as all his bowlers got into the wickets.
Pakistan got off to a slow start in the morning, reaching lunch on just 57 but losing only the wicket of Ahmed Shehzad. He was removed by Nuwan Pradeep, back in the side for the first time in a year.
The paceman later then bagged two more wickets as Pakistan lost five wickets in the afternoon session. This included Khurram Manzoor, who valiantly made his way to a top score of 73 before departing to Suranga Lakmal.
The rest of the order all failed, aside from paceman Bilawal Bhatti, who made 24 not out. Sri Lanka spinner Rangana Herath wrapped up the tail, taking the final three wickets for 14 runs.
