The annual limited-over encounter between Rahula College of Matara and Dharmapala College of Pannipitiya was played today ( 2nd April) at Uyanwatte Grounds where Rahula College secured a 30-run win.
After opting to bat first, Rahula College was able to bat for only 44 overs as they bowled out for 147 runs. Thathsara Dilshan was their highest scorer with a 30-run knock while Chithun Beddage and Nulan Senevirathne took a couple of wickets apiece.
Chasing 148 to win, looks like an easy task but Rahula bowlers were threatening for Dharmapala batters as they bundled out for 117 runs in 40.3 overs. Yujitha Sandaruwan’s 23 was the highest individual score of their run chase.
In the bowling department, Sadev Gamage, Gevindum Manamperi, Nadil Sandesh and Sasinu Battage bagged 2 wickets apiece to help Rahula College to register a 30-run victory.
