The Brazil star also joked that he hopes to see his Blaugrana team-mate score plenty against the Selecao – but only if Dunga’s men ultimately win the Superclasico.

Barcelona forward Neymar believes his understanding with Lionel Messi is getting better with every game.

After some initial difficulties in adapting to the Blaugrana system following his move from Santos last summer, Neymar has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2014-15 season, netting seven goals in just six La Liga matches.

The Brazil star says his understanding with strike partner Messi is improving all the time and is confident it will continue to develop as part of a successful Barca set-up.

“We understand each other more and more,” he told Globoesporte. “We’re getting there little by little and I hope we continue improving to help Barca.”

Neymar is set to face Messi in the Superclasico de las Americas on Saturday and the 22-year-old says he will be happy for the Argentina captain to get on the scoresheet – provided Brazil win the game.

“We joke [over the friendly] because of the friendship we have, playing together every day. I say he can score two or three goals, but that we’ll win,” he said.

Saturday presents the chance for Neymar to face former Barca boss Gerardo Martino, who now holds the reins of Argentina, and he hopes he will be able to spring a few surprises on his old coach.

“[Martino] is a great coach,” he added. “Unfortunately, last year was not our best, but he’s a great person. I don’t know what he knows of me, but I hope to surprise him and give Brazil victory.”
