Nelson Perera was appointed as the Chairman of the National selection committee along with four other members for the Football Federation of Sri Lanka.
These appointments were made by Hon. Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage under regulation No 17 made under the sports law for the year 2014-15.
The other members include Asoka Ravindra, Clement De Silva, M.I. Muthalif and Damian Fernando. Nelson Perera is a former National captain as well while the others are also ex-national players who have played football at the highest level.
They had a discussion with Mr. Ranjith Rodrigo, the President of FFSL and the Technical Department with regards to their future plans and implementation of selection of players to both men and women’s teams.
