National star rejoins squad to strengthen Kandy SC

The first choice Kandy second row forward Jason Dissanayake is set to join the club ahead of the team’s 2nd game in the Western Asia Rugby Championship against the Abu Dhabi Harlequins. Kandy SC suffered a 31-20 loss last week against Bahrain RFC after fielding a depleted team due to various reasons.

Dissanayake will start off the bench in the important fixture for the Club. This will strengthen the forwards as they were dominated last week by Bahrain RFC as they look to put on a better show this time around.

Danushka Ranjan will not take part in the games as he suffered an injury at the Asian Games while Gayan Weerarathne, Srinath Sooriyabandara and Danush Dayan will not take flight to Dubai due to national commitments.

Kandy SC will play Abhu Dhabi Harlequins tomorrow (7th) in Dubai. This is also a must win game for Kandy as they have already suffered defeat at the hands of Bahrain RFC last week.
