The National Age Group Waterpolo Championships 2025, organized by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union, concluded last weekend at the Rathmalana Air Force Pool. The tornamnet was conducted under 4 age groups as under 13,15,17, and 19.
The Bishop’s College grabbed the attention of all eyes by ruling the under – 13,15, and 19 age categories with entertaining scores, becoming the overall champions after 13 long years. All three games were won against Visakha Vidyalaya with close scores of,
Under 13 – BC 09: VV 06
Under 15 – BC 09: VV 07
Under 19 – BC 15: VV 12.
Visakha broke the Bishop’s monopoly by winning the under-17 game.
Meanwhile, Royalists became boys’ overall champions by gaining more honours in the under-19 and under-17 age groups, showing strong preparation ahead of the upcoming Dr. R. L. Hayman trophy between Royal and S. Thomas’ College. On the other side, the Junior Thmoians played their hearts out, clinching the under-13 and 15 champion titles, showing a strong base for Thora at the upcoming Royal Thomian junior encounter.
