Traditional fixture between Nalanda College and Thurstan College concluded earlier this week at Nalanda College grounds without a result.
After being asked to bat first, Thurstan batsmen did really well to post a solid 278 runs on the board for their first innings. Right handed stroke maker Janushka Fernando top scored for Thurstan College with 70 runs. In reply, Nalanda College batsmen scored 179 runs for 6 wickets at stumps on day two. Right handed batsman Avishka Perera stoked 61 runs while Dilhara Polgampola contributed with a valuable 54 runs. Janushka Fernando, the top scorer for Thurstan with the bat showed his all-round skills picking up 3 wickets for 35 runs.
