Mendis available for selection in 3rd T20I; Binura to miss next two games

Sri Lankan batter Kusal Mendis has recovered from COVID-19 and is available for selection for the 3rd T20I against Australia.

Mendis, who was tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the 5-match T20I series against Australia, has recovered and will be available for the selections for the 3rd T20I against Australia.

It is reported that Mendis has joined the team after the medical clearance given to him, as he has ended his quarantine period.

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan left-arm fast bowler Binura Fernando is set to miss the 3rd and 4th T20I against Australia, as he has been infected with the COVID-19 virus.

As per the latest COVID-19 quarantine protocols in Australia, a player shall be available to play after finishing 7 days of quarantine. Accordingly, Fernando will be in quarantine for 7 days and will be available for the fifth and final T20I against Australia in Melbourne.
