Maliyadeva took on Dharmaraja in rain curtailed game

Maliyadeva College took on Dharmaraja College today in an inter school cricket match which took place at Maliyadeva grounds.

The visiting College who lost the toss elected to field first while the hosts scored 154 runs for a loss of 6 wickets in 48 overs in their first innings. Charith Rathnayake (35) scored the highest runs of the day while most of the players were limited to twenties.  Sarindu Dassanayake and Minod Ransinghe scored 25 and 27 runs whereas Rasanjana Jayarathne and Kusal De Silva made an unbeaten 21 and 22 runs respectively.

Lakshan De Silva on behalf of the hill capital boys had brilliant in his figures taking 5 wickets for a score of 47.

Rain interfered with the match which caused for an early end and visiting college will fight for their revival by tomorrow.
