Maliyadeva College took on St. Sylvester College today in an inter school cricket encounter at the Maliyadeva grounds in Kurunagale.
Maliyadewa College who won the toss scored a giant 267 runs in 63 overs while 9 wickets were send down in the first innings.
Bhanuka Ranathunga and Charith Rathnayake displayed an elegant performance with the bat scoring half centuries to take their team towards the advantage with scores of 82 and 53 runs respectively. Prabhash Keppetipola was unbeaten in 26* runs while Tharaka Rajaguru scored a total of 33 runs. Dushan Malalasena and Manuja Perera ran through the opposition with 5 and 2 wickets each.
When the score board read just 4 overs, 2 wickets were send down for a score of 11 runs in the first innings of the visitors.
