The Katukurunda Circuit meet which will be the first round of the Sri Lanka Super series organized by Asian Motor Racing Club (AMRC) and Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers & Riders (SLARDAR) will be held on the 19th of March 2017 at the Katukurunda tarmac race, Kalutara.
Sri Lanka Super series 2017 will be powered by Abaya & Company and will include 2 tarmac races in Katukurunda circuit meet, Pannala Circuit meet – Night Race and four motocross events which will include Fox Hill Supercross, Inaugural Colombo Supercross , Cavalry Supercross, Commando Supercross.
Across the 6 rounds Sri Lanka’s finest drivers and riders will race each other to earn the distinction of “Champion Driver” and “Champion Rider” titles at the end of the year and this year will be well compensated with KIA motors coming in to present the best Driver with a KIA Picanto and the best Rider will receive a brand new “Honda Hornet” presented by Stafford Motors.
This year the Katukurunda meet will be organized by AMRC and SLARDAR with the partnership of Lions Clubs International District 306 C1 where the proceeds of the event will be contributed towards purchasing much needed equipment for the University of Peradeniya.
The Katukurunda circuit meet will be one of the most hotly contested event where some of the finest tarmac racing driver and riders will battle against each other in 15 different categories. The crowd pullers SL GT up to 3500cc event commonly known as the Super car event and the two wheeled big guns in the 600cc up to 1000cc Bike race will provide a thrilling viewing experience with plenty of speed and action for the motor sporting enthusiast.
