The 65th Battle of the Mangosteen between Kalutara Vidyalaya and Tissa Central College ended in a draw today (25th May) at De Zoysa Stadium, Moratuwa.
Having won the toss, Tissa Central College opted to bat first and managed to put on 249 runs for 9 wickets before declaring their innings.

Sithum Mihiranga (49) and Malsha Kavishan (47) were the chief run-getters for Tissa Central College while Hirusha Gaganaka stood out with the ball for Kalutara Vidyalaya, claiming 6 wickets for 89 runs.
In reply, Kalutara Vidyalaya had a terrible time with the bat as they made only 91 runs for 8 wickets. Malindu Dilshan and Nadun Asela were outstanding with the ball for Tissa Central College as they claimed 4 wickets each.
There were several rain interruptions during all three days which led to the loss of significant number of overs, forcing the game to end without a result.
