Javalane outplayed by Colombo FC

Striker A.C.Frank puts Colombo FC in to the quarter finals by scoring 4 goals against Javalane Colombo FC thrashed Javalane SC 6-2 in the Cargills Food City FA Cup Pre quarter final matches.

Colombo FC started their scoring from the very beginning of the game. In the 3rd minute Niran Kanishka’s cross from the left side to striker M.Zakir who was standing right in front of the goal keeper made a back flip which was an unexpected ball to the Javalane goal keeper. Javalane had a poor defense line that could not stop the crosses from both the wingers. Raumi Mohideen the main star on the field supplied the ball to the wingers and then to the strikers.

Rizkhan Faizer also known as ‘Cheetah’ for his speed and Zarwan Johar of Javalane SC did not let their team down. The dynamic duo with the help of their midfielder Nagoor Meera took few shots on target. Though they tried their level best they did not get much support from the rest of their team mates. Colombo FC goal keeper Imran Nazeer saved each and every shot easily. Manchester United star Ahamed Shazni and his partner and the leading goal scorer A.C.Frank made a good combination on the pitch. Shazni being able to understand Frank’s movements passed the ball between the center defenders of Javalane. Frank did not fail to score the second goal standing one on one with the goal keeper. 

Few minutes later Rifnaz passed the ball to Frank who took a shot to the net which was punched by the keeper and Frank’s partner Ahamed Shazni did not fail to score the rebound with a slight touch with his left foot.

Javalane defenders had given up on the game which helped Frank to score more goals. Except for the few stars in the Javalane line up the others did not give their fullest support as they were already 3 goals behind. Mohamed Rifnaz, the youngest star in  Colombo FC turned up to show some amazing dribbles and passes which confused the opponents and ended up crossing the ball to Frank who just headed the ball towards the post. Goal keeper M.Usman could not save the ball which went through his arms. Continuing with his amazing through passes Mohamed Rifnaz received an overlap pass from the captain Raumi Mohideen and lobbed the ball to the top of the penalty box. Frank controlled the lob pass with his thighs and took a shot to score the fourth goal for his team leaving the Javalane Goal keeper and the defenders helpless. Rizkhan decided to stay back in the defense line to save his team. None of the decisions made by the Javalane players stopped Colombo FC. In the 70th minute Javalane goal keeper M.Usman received a red card and was sent out of the pitch for a foul play injuring Niran Kanishka. It helped Colombo Fc to get a penalty and A.C.Frank scored his fourth goal and the sixth goal for his team. 

Ruwansiri Samarakoon moving from the defense line to the center passed the ball to Nagoor Meera who scored a solid goal from the left side of the post which couldn’t be stopped by Imran Nazeer. Javalane managed to score a goal for the first time in the game. Rizkhan the star who did not give up on his team, Javalane SC scored a goal by a shot which was taken from the far side of the post. Though Javalane scored 2 goals they did not have enough time to bounce back as referee  G.N.Rubesh blew the final whistle.

There were many disagreements and disputes throughout the game, but the referees and the match officials brought things under control.

Coach of the winning team Mohamed Roomy speaking to ThePapare mentioned he had expected a better game than this and the way the opponents played was disappointing. 

Colombo FC won the match 6-2.
