The Java Lane SC team after a largely anticipated battle emerged the champions of the Premier League Division I Football score line of 2-1 goals. Their counterpart Nadimithra SC nominated as the runners up of the championship.
With just 7 minutes on the clock, Mohommed Zarvan the star performerof the Java Lane SC scored the first goal of the event. The football continued fiercely with Java Lane and Nadimithra going head to head. In the 59th minute also was also successful for Java Lane Zarvan kicked in a penalty.
The visitors (Java) were looking solid until the 73rd minute when P.N.Priyankara of the Nadimithra in the blue jersey scored their first and the last goal. The final was blown whiles the Blues were in their corner removing any chance of equalizing the scored.
Both teams were delighted with the message that they had qualified for the Dialog Premier League championship which is to be held in this year.
The championship which was held at the City Football complex ended after the award ceremony in the presence of Mr. Upali Hewage, General Secretary, Football Federation, Mohommed Ramez director of play grounds, Municipal council of Colombo.
