Isipathana College Colombo secured the Royal Trinity Tap Rugby Sevens title for the year 2013 when they beat Vidyartha College Kandy in a close game with scores reading 2-1 yesterday at the Race Course Complex.
Tap Rugby Sevens organized for the fourth successive time by the Interact Clubs of Royal College and Trinity College Kandy has provided a proving grounds for the aspiring rugby players to build up their abilities to become prospective rugby players.
The Kandy preliminaries kicked off at the Asgiriya Stadium on the 8th of December where VIdyartha College emerged winners for the second successive time. The Colombo preliminaries saw Isipathana College and DS Senanayaka College battling it out for the Colombo championship title and after a tight game, the lads of Isipathana measured out to be the better team.
The highly anticipated girls finals which was between Visakha Vidyalaya and Gateway College Rajagiriya ended up with Visaka taking major honors.
