Injury worries for Sri Lanka ahead of second ODI

The Sri Lankan camp touring India has been hit with injury woes as seamers Dilshan Madushanka and Chamika Karunaratne were injured during the first ODI in Guwahati.

Madushanka had dislocated his right shoulder while diving in the outfield during the match and has been sent for an X-ray and MRI to assess his level of medical condition.

It is reported that upon receiving the said reports, the team management will decide on the future course of action pertaining to Madushanka.

Meanwhile, Karunaratne, whose upper lip was injured after being struck by a ball just before the toss of the first ODI, has received three stitches and took part in the game as per the recommendation of the team’s medical staff.

However, the team management confirms that he is expected to be available for the second ODI which will be played tomorrow (12th January) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
